In Operation

September, 2025 The transfer of shares changed the ownership of Mt Barker Power Company and it is now competely owned by Dandaragan Energy Pty Ltd.

December, 2024 At the AGM, the decision was made to accept an offer by Dandaragan Energy Pty Ltd to buy out all of the shareholders with the payments and transfer of ownership to occur in the following September (2025).

Mid April, 2023 The yaw bearings of both T2 and T1 were replaced on the between the 18th and the 22nd of April. The rotors and the nacelles had to be brought to ground level to enable the old yaw bearing to be removed and the new bolted back on. Windy conditions resulted in a delay of 4 days over original plans.

Mid September, 2022 to end of January, 2023 In mid September 2022, the yaw ring of turbine 3 was found to have missing teeth and it's operation was suspended immediately.

On Sunday, 15th of January, 2023 two cranes and crew arrived onsite and began assemblying the main crane. On Monday morning, both the rotor and the nacelle were lifted to the ground. The yaw bearing was replaced with a new yaw bearing and all four yaw drives were replaced. The nacelle was back on the tower by mid Friday however a front blew through over the weekend and the rotor was finally lifed back into place on Monday, 23rd. Commissioning took a few more days but late on the Wednesday, T3 was finally back in operation.

May of 2021 Mid life and the blades undergo some maintenance work;

20/04/2021 Milestone The wind farm reaches 250,000 operational turbine hours.

26/04/2015 Milestone The wind farm reaches 100,000 operational turbine hours in the morning of the 26th of April. Overall availability to date is 99.48%.

3/12/2010 Formwork installed on T1.

25/11 - 2/12/2010 Steel reinforcing work.

24/11/2010 Reinforcing for two foundations turn up.

20 - 23/11/2010 Blinding for turbine foundations are poured.

15 - 16/11/2010 Excavation of turbine foundations.

29/9/2010 Roading constuction begins.

28/9/2010 Update on progress given to Shire Council.

23/9/2010 Mt Barker Power Co and Synergy sign off on a long term Power Purchase Agreement for the electricity and Renewable Energy Certificates generated by the windfarm

23/8/2010 Mt Barker Power Co holds it's inaugural AGM in the Plantagenet Shire committee office.

6/7/2010 Now 5 years of wind data.

Much of the first quarter of 2010 was spent raising equity, while the second quarter saw Advanced Energy Resources come on board as the major investor and now the project has full financial support. Inspite of the banks, debt has been secured by way of the leading three investors.

11/3/2010 WP visits site

Jarrah pegs locate poles for the connection point.

In July, financial closure was obtained and the turbines ordered.

10/2/2010 Public meeting, shire offices; Paul Llewellyn presented the project to an audience of 35+, detailing where the project is up to and what needs to happen next. Andrew and Susanna from SkyFarming were there to take questions. Tony Smith also expressed his support for the project.
